Learners Edge has added Simpson College as a new academic partner, expanding the reach of continuing education courses for teachers throughout the state of Iowa and surrounding areas. The assessments for Triumph Learning's new Waggle for the Smarter Balance Assessment Consortium (SBAC) include 26 different item types. Smarter Balance is one of two multi-state consortia awarded funding from the U.S. Department of Education in 2010 to develop a Common Core-aligned assessment system by the 2014-2015 school year.

The SME Education Foundation’s Partnership Response In Manufacturing Education (PRIME) initiative has selected six new high schools in Montana, Kentucky, California, Florida and Ohio to participate in its program. PRIME creates connections between manufacturing high school students, educators and the industry to train students and drive interest and awareness in manufacturing.
