Two new education nonprofits have adopted Torsh Inc.'s TALENT platform. Teaching Trust will utilize the product in its leadership development programs to capture and share on­-the-­job video while Breakthrough Collaborative will incorporate TALENT this summer into its Breakthrough Birmingham and Breakthrough Oakland locations.

Franklin Special, Tipton County and Sevier County School Districts have designated Skyward as their student information system vendor beginning this fall.Tennessee selected Skyward as a preferred Student Information System vendor to maximize the collection and reporting of student data and information.

Edgenuity has released its new Algebra I, a full-year course focuses on the Common Core model pathway for algebra. The program is designed to deepen students’ understanding of linear and exponential functions and develop fluency in writing and solving one-variable equations and inequalities.

Maryland’s Prince George’s County Public Schools and Discovery Education are expanding their 10-year partnership. In this new phase of collaboration, Discovery Education will present the largest professional development event in the school system’s history, as well as provide students access to Discovery Education Science Techbook in the 2014-2015 school year.

The Institute for Habits of Mind and WonderGrove Studios launched a new series of instructional animations based on 16 Habits of Mind. Each instructional animation includes 20 related extension lessons that can be used to reinforce the Habits of Mind. All materials are available in both English and Spanish.

The Oregon Community Foundation has announced a new statewide arts education initiative. Studio to School is a multi-year grant program to support collaborative projects between schools and community arts organizations to design and deliver sustainable arts education opportunities that have the potential for replication.

Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) will be launching its Summer Brain Gain program in 1,000 Boys & Girls Clubs nationwide. Designed to prevent summer learning loss and foster critical creative-thinking skills, the program's curriculum will also be available for free to all BGCAs across the country.

InFocus Corporation has addded the 65-inch JTouch model to in its line-up of large-format 1080p, LCD displays that turn notebooks into massive touchscreens. Like the previously released 55-inch and 70-inch JTouch models, the 65-inch device connects to a notebook – PC or Mac – with an HDMI cable, VGA, USB Type-A, or wirelessly via the InFocus LiteShow adapter.

Discovery Communications and US2020 are partnering to bolster US2020’s goal of matching 1 million STEM mentors with students by 2020. Sponsored by Cisco, the US2020 City Competition's winning city coalitions, representing over 200 companies and organizations, developed innovative models to increase the number of mentors. The winners will share $1 million in financial, consulting and staff support.

The Los Angeles USD has selected Irving Burton Associates’ In Case of Crisis emergency preparedness mobile app. With three versions planned for faculty, parents, students and the greater community (select versions will also be developed in Spanish), the mobile app will provide guidance on specific emergencies. The district enrolls more than 650,000 K12 students.
