Sony Electronics is adding a new model to its X Series line of IP mini-dome cameras. The SNC-XM631 is powered by the IPELA Engine EX signal processing system, allowing it to deliver full HD picture quality in challenging lighting conditions using Sony´s wide dynamic range technology (View-DR) and image stabilization technology.

ClassLink inked a multiyear agreement for its ClassLink LaunchPad with Brevard County Schools. The full-scale adoption will be the framework that ties together Brevard’s Learning Management System programs for over 8,500 staff and 72,000 students. The adoption will be funded through the district’s local Race to the Top allocation.

ASCD released two new ASCD Arias professional development titles that address students’ emotional health in the classroom. "Handling Student Frustrations" focuses on how teachers can respond to students’ frustrations to create a productive learning environment. "Encouragement in the Classroom" offers practical classroom-tested strategies, routines and rituals for creating a supportive classroom environment.

In Oregon, Medford's board adopted a new English language arts curriculum that included the purchase of 1,800 Dell Google Chromebooks for about $1.09 million. The hardware will be used to power the 2015 Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Collections blended learning program. Students will be able to access the curriculum on the new Chromebooks in class and from other devices outside of class.

Binghamton School District will be using digital signage technology from Tightrope Media Systems to deliver information inside the school and over the web. Using Tightrope’s Carousel digital signage solution, the school will broadcast feeds on classroom SMART Boards and large monitors, which will also be replicated on the school’s website.

Starting in 2015, new indicators will be reported to students who take the ACT in addition to the traditional ACT scores and ACT College Readiness Benchmarks. The indicators will describe student performance and predicted readiness levels in categories such as STEM, career readiness, English language arts and text complexity.

To supplement special education services in Louisiana, the state’s Supplemental Course Academy has added PresenceLearning’s online speech and occupational therapy services to its course catalog. Students can register for year- or semester-long services to receive speech and occupational therapy funded through their Supplemental Course Allocation.
