The National Education Association Health Information Network (NEA HIN) and Nestlé in the United States are expanding their joint initiative Healthy Steps for Healthy Lives to include nutrition resources for upper elementary school students (grades 3-6). Materials are currently available for grades K-3 through an existing NEA HIN and Nestlé partnership, which supports educators’ efforts to teach students about healthy living.
National 4-H Council recently welcomed several youth leaders and adult mentors as they took part in the week-long 4-H National Mentoring Capstone Program. The new initiative, coordinated with funding provided by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), incorporated elements of Citizenship Washington Focus (CWF)—an annual national citizenship and leadership program for 4-H members— with a direct focus on mentoring and training activities for both youth and adult mentors.
