Monkimun, a game studio that designs language educational games for children, has released Monki Chinese Class, the first free application in its new line of Monki Class products. Monki Chinese Class, available in the Apple App Store, is an app that teaches third-graders and older how to write basic Mandarin Chinese.

Pearson is integrating its GradPoint and PowerSchool applications, allowing customers to synch course and student data on a regular basis. PowerSchool is a web-based student information system while GradPoint is a collection of more than 200 standards-based online courses for students in grades six through 12.

Hooda Math has released five math manipulatives designed to be completely device agnostic, including Base Ten Blocks, Number Line Integer Addition, Hundreds Chart, Algebra Tiles and Algebra Balance Equations. These free manipulatives are built using HTML5 code, enabling students to access them on a smartphone, tablet or desktop computer.

The New Media Consortium and the Consortium for School Networking, with the support of HP, released the NMC Horizon Report > 2014 K-12 Edition. It describes annual findings from the NMC Horizon Project, an ongoing research project designed to identify and describe emerging technologies likely to have an impact on teaching, learning, and creative inquiry in K12 schools.

Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) in North Carolina will implement Knovation's digital learning resource library, netTrekker, in all K8 schools. As the largest public school district in the state and the sixteenth largest in the country, WCPSS will offer the educator-curated digital content to more than 100,000 students across 137 elementary and middle schools.
