The Ridgewood Local School District has named a new superintendent for the 2013-14 school year. The board voted to hire John Marks, current superintendent of Mapleton School District in Ashland. The vote was unanimous.

After just six months on the job, interim superintendent Dr. Tom Michaelson says he's stepping down as leader of the Nampa School District. Teachers in Tacoma Public Schools could be facing the first layoffs from their ranks in many years. The cuts, if they happen, will target only career and technical education (CTE) teachers, and likely no more than 10 of them.
