Accreditation group ends review of Wake schools

Wake County school officials announced Monday that AdvancED will essentially be closing its investigation into complaints filed by the state NAACP and Wake County Taxpayers Association that have lowered the accreditation of the district’s high schools.

School officials said that AdvancED will no longer be reviewing concerns related to school board governance after telling the school board that it has met all actions required by the Georgia-based organization. School officials say they expect that AdvancED will issue either full accreditation or the next highest status of “accredited with advisement” to all of the high schools in the near future.
