Angela Pringle officially became the Richmond County Superintendent of Schools on Thursday, reciting the oath of her office in a courtroom packed with family members, education officials, politicians and members of the public.
Pringle’s oath, administered by Probate Judge Harry James, required her to state she was fully qualified to hold her office and to follow the laws of Georgia while performing her new job. After reciting the oath, Pringle thanked her family and Richmond County Board of Education members for helping her during the selection process.
“I want to thank all of you for your support, especially my family members that took the time to come here,” Pringle said. “My sister came here from Florida, arriving at 1 a.m. It shows what kind of support I have. I am ready to work in a school system that will continue to grow and I want to capitalize on the great work going on here.”
