In her new role, Race will lead and oversee all organizational, field-based professional development operations and institutes.

Among the many responsibilities in her new role, Race will conceptualize, design, and develop all aspects of ASCD's professional development models. She will also serve as a conduit of information to support ASCD's content acquisition and sales and marketing efforts, as well as identify and develop promising practices and trends. In addition, she will serve as a team leader in the development of new and innovative ASCD programs, products, and services.
Race brings more than 15 years' experience in education and program, product, and process modification to ASCD. Before joining the association, Race was an educational consultant providing training and support around teacher observation, coaching, and evaluation for The Danielson Group.
Prior to her role as consultant, Race served as chief academic officer and SVP at Nobel Learning Communities, Inc., where she led curriculum and professional development initiatives in 185 private preschools and private grade preK–8 schools in 16 states. She also served in various management, professional development, and operation roles as an assistant superintendent at Pottsgrove School District. Race holds a doctorate in educational leadership from Widener University, and she is also a graduate of the University of Delaware, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in business education and a master’s in educational administration.
