Auburn school board appoints chief information officer

Just two weeks after the position was officially created, the Board of Education for the Auburn (N.Y.) Enlarged City School District has approved the appointment of a chief information officer who will oversee the district's use of data and technology.

At a special meeting held Tuesday night, the school board unanimously approved the appointment of Timothy Moon upon the recommendation of superintendent Constance Evelyn. As chief information officer, Moon will provide expertise and leadership regarding the implementation of technology throughout the district for several purposes such as student management, human resources, financial management and teaching.
