Baltimore City is working to again raise tuition for students who live outside of the district but attend city schools. If it passes, it would be the largest increase in almost a decade.
For years now, students from all over Maryland have crossed the city line to enroll in a handful of popular school programs and it looks like more of them will be facing with paying more to learn.
Baltimore City School for the Arts has an international reputation. Almost 25 percent of its students come from outside of the city. The school board is set to vote on whether to raise non-resident tuition to $7,000 a year for elementary school students and $7,500 for middle and high school students.
