Blue Ridge implements new tech program

The Blue Ridge Board of Education met Wednesday, May 14, approving a new technology program aimed to prepare Blue Ridge students for the technological changes happening at the collegiate and professional level.

The cost of the plan is estimated at $135,000 annually, according to Blue Ridge Superintendent Susan Wilson.

The plan will begin with a pilot program, and will include a year-one cost of approximately $80,000. The cost will include the purchase of 75 Samsung Chromebooks for fifth grade teachers, 30 Chromebooks for junior high science and 90 Chromebooks for high school english and spanish.
