California releases ed tech blueprint report

California Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson announced the release of the Education Technology Task Force's "Education Technology Blueprint" report this morning at William Burnett Elementary School.

Torlakson presented an outline of 19 recommendations to support California educators using technology to enhance the learning experience of children all over the country. The Blueprint recommendations -- that came from education taskforce members, school administrators, and teachers and education professionals -- focus on learning, teaching, assessment and infrastructure.

He also said policies based on the recommendations had already begun, including adoption of the Local Control Funding Formula and securing $1.25 billion in funding for school districts transitioning to the new Common Core State Standards, which require the integration of academic content standards through technology-based instruction to improve students' academic performances.
