The Boulder Valley School District is restructuring its administrative positions, including reinstating the deputy superintendent position, but isn't adding additional staff members.
Filling the deputy superintendent position is Deirdre Pilch, who has been the district's assistant superintendent for secondary school leadership since 2007. Before that, she was the principal at Centaurus High School. The district last had a deputy superintendent three-and-a-half years ago.
Superintendent Bruce Messinger said that, as he takes on statewide issues like school finance, he saw a need for a senior leader who can help with districwide goals and strategic planning.
