Communities In Schools, the nation’s leading organization dedicated to empowering students to stay in school and achieve in life, is proud to announce the winners of the 2013 Awards of Excellence, a new and expanded recognition program. Since 2007, Communities In Schools has recognized members of the Communities In Schools national network who embody the core values of the organization and exemplify the commitment of Communities In Schools to surround students with a community of support.
The new annual Communities In Schools Awards of Excellence additionally recognize and honor local affiliates for exemplary work in schools and communities where they are making a difference each day to ensure the students they serve have the resources and supports to be successful in school and in life.
“In addition to our site coordinators, who are the lifeblood of this organization, strong schools and communities are critical in making sure the Communities In Schools model succeeds,” said Daniel J. Cardinali, president of Communities In Schools. “I am proud to recognize the passion and commitment of our staff, schools and communities from across the network in our collective effort to empower the 1.25 million students we serve to achieve.”
