The Toolkit, which accompanies the New Media Consortium’s (NMC) recently released NMC Horizon Report > 2013 K-12 Edition, provides district technology leaders, policymakers and other key education stakeholders with insight and guidelines to facilitate a conversation on leveraging emerging technologies to advance 21st century teaching and learning. Now in its fourth edition, the Toolkit is available at no cost at www.cosn.org/horizon.
“What began as a resource to start a conversation within school systems about emerging technologies has evolved into a forward-thinking, proven asset that brings all necessary parties into the conversation about transforming K-12 learning,” said Keith Krueger, CEO of CoSN. “This year’s Toolkit is a valuable component to the widely read NMC 2013 Horizon Report, equipping educators with the knowledge to cultivate learning environments that enrich the educational experience for all students. We thank our partners NMC and HP for assisting the Toolkit’s development.”
Accompanying this year’s NMC Horizon Report – an examination of emerging technologies for their potential impact on and use in K-12 – the Toolkit explains how to gain local decision maker support for investing in new technologies and how to provide local support to enhance learning through technology.
