Thousands of educators from across the country will have an opportunity to explore emergent technologies, cutting-edge programs and a highly innovative ed-tech marketplace at FETC 2014, one of the largest conferences in the nation devoted entirely to education technology.
FETC’s 34th annual conference will take place at the South Concourse of the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., Jan. 28 through Jan. 31, and will feature dynamic speakers, exhibitors and events designed to provide PK-12 educators and administrators with an unparalleled opportunity to explore different technologies while increasing their familiarity with the latest devices, hardware, software and successful strategies on student technology integration.
“We are so proud that we’ve been able to establish FETC as one of the most comprehensive and progressive ed-tech conferences in the country,” said Mike Eason, Vice President of Public Sector Events for 1105 Media. “From our interactive exhibit hall, to our stellar speaker line-up, to our expert keynotes, we’ve custom-built FETC 2014 to provide attendees with an experience that will impact them long after the conference is over.”
FETC’s distinguished keynote speakers include Chris Lehmann and Lucien Vattel. Lehmann is the founding principal of the Science Leadership Academy and was named “Outstanding Leader of the Year” by the International Society of Technology in Education in June 2013. Vattel is the CEO of GameDesk, the director and writer for Vattel Films and the founder and co-director of the PlayMaker school. FETC’s closing session will be presented by Rushton Hurley, the founder and executive director of Next Vista for Learning.
“Rushton has a great way of presenting exciting and thought-provoking material that draws a clear connection between traditional teaching strategies and useful, affordable technologies in a rapidly-changing digital world,” said Eason.
This year’s schedule will feature more than 200 concurrent and BYOT sessions targeting the hottest topics – communication and collaboration; digital content and productivity tools; distance, online and blended learning; innovation and digital campus; instructional design and curriculum delivery; IT leadership and institutional intelligence; mobility, BYOT and 1:1 implementations; professional development; and technology infrastructure.
The 2014 Exhibit Hall, a dedicated educators’ marketplace, will enable attendees to see and purchase the latest innovations in classroom technology from more than 500 companies, including industry powerhouses like Google in Education, Insight Systems Exchange, Mediasite by Sonic Foundry, Scantron, Lenovo, NetApp, Sony, Aver, and Edmodo. This hands-on, interactive environment allows attendees to access the cutting-edge technologies transforming today’s education landscape.
