Edgenuity, a leading provider of online and blended learning solutions, has announced that it is the recipient of the 18th Annual Education Software Review (EDDIE) Award in four categories. Presented by The ComputED Gazette, an online educational resource, Edgenuity’s courses won EDDIEs in:
Edgenuity’s Common Core ELA 6-8 and Common Core ELA 11 courses were also recognized as being the most thoroughly aligned to the Common Core standards among all of the EDDIE winners. Edgenuity’s Common Core ELA courses were built to meet the demands of the Common Core State Standards with new instruction, interactive learning tools, readings, assignments, and multimedia resources. Courses include a significant proportion of literary nonfiction, close reading to draw evidence from text, reading with adequate range and complexity, and argumentative and explanatory writing.
“Edgenuity’s newest courses in Math and ELA have been designed to help students and teachers meet not just the standards, but the instructional shifts of the Common Core,” said Sari Factor, CEO of Edgenuity. “It’s great to see that The ComputED Gazette recognized the extent of our efforts by deeming our courses as most aligned to the Common Core. Edgenuity is bringing lessons to life through instructional videos, real-world projects and interactive assignments across our curriculum, helping to prepare students for college and careers.”
The ComputED Gazette hosts the EDDIE Awards to honor innovative and content-rich programs and websites that enhance the classroom experience and improve teacher effectiveness. Solutions are judged by criteria such as quality of academic content, potential for broad classroom use, technical merit, subject approach, and management system.
