Fix errors that cost New York City schools $356 million

Students in the public schools on Staten Island and across the city have become victims of a series of financial errors by the Department of Education. The oversights were egregious.

Because it didn't file the proper paperwork in a timely manner, the DOE was unable to collect $356 million it would have been eligible to receive from the federal government.

It's a fiasco that we can't afford to repeat.
