Lunchtime rock concerts, club meetings and other activities are much easier on the students and staff at Murrieta Valley High School this year.
The school switched from two lunch periods to a single break for all students this year, a move that has aided school activities and improved the school’s climate, school officials say. The lunchtime concerts don’t have to be quieted to avoid disturbing students still in class, and other lunchtime activities can be held just once for all students, so no one gets left out.
“I think it’s better for the camaraderie on campus,” said Assistant Principal Mark Pettengill. “I feel the unity a little more on campus.”
