Green (Ohio) school board offers superintendent’s job to middle school principal

After spending his whole 14-year career as an educator with Green Local Schools, Green Middle School Principal Jeffrey L. Miller has been chosen as the district’s next superintendent.

The Lake Township resident, who taught five years in Green before becoming the middle school assistant principal and then principal since 2008, was offered a contract Friday night.

He was selected over Green resident and Ravenna Schools Superintendent Dennis M. Honkala, a former Green High School principal.

School board member Bob Campbell, who was named by the board to chair the search for a successor to Superintendent Michael E. Nutter, said 40 candidates applied for the position.
