The review team from the AdvancED Accreditation Commission conditioned its approval on a “required action” that the district improve its use of technology to provide equity for students in all schools and develop a better system-wide technology infrastructure.
Superintendent Burke Royster said the team’s findings were consistent with what the district had found in its own review.
“We are always seeking continuous improvement,” he said. “We think it certainly reaffirms some of the things that we saw ourselves.”
The district and its schools were accredited for five years through the internationally recognized organization in 2008. The accreditation is up for renewal by June 30, 2014.
