Hobsons, the leader in recruitment, communication, and student success solutions donated school supplies to local Denver school children via Denver Kids, Inc. this month. Denver Kids, Inc. helps Denver Public Schools students from at-risk environments to successfully complete high school, pursue post-secondary options, and become contributing members of the community. Hobsons made its donation, which included 500 lunch bags filled with school supplies, while in Denver for the 68th National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) 2012 National Conference, October 4-6. With more than 72 percent of area students living at or below the poverty line, Hobsons saw an opportunity to support those in need by providing them with the essentials: pencils, erasers, and crayons. The company will also encourage its clients to bring items from their campus for the initiative.
This effort is part of an ongoing commitment by Hobsons to give back to the education community, including families and schools. Committed to elevating educational opportunities around the world, employees work with education charities to build schools and facilities in developing countries. For the last ten years, Hobsons has sent employees to many developing countries including Kenya, Laos, and Bolivia to provide adequate places of learning for children. Additionally, Hobsons offices raise funds to improve education within the communities where their employees work and live.
According to Craig Heldman, Hobsons, chief executive officer, “While we usually collaborate with our clients to help students succeed, this week we sent basic supplies to students in the local Denver area. It is important to invest in children today so they have a shot at a brighter future. Engrained in the very core of Hobsons’ culture is social responsibility through its regular contributions. This past summer, the Hobsons team built a school in the Dominican Republic. These gifts make a difference for the community overall because of our belief that every child deserves to be something great.”
Hobsons helps educators, administrators, students, and families maximize success through every stage of the learning lifecycle.
