How the economy is influencing school standardized testing

It's no secret that some high school students are struggling in basic college classes.

In 2009, a state report estimated that as many as a third of freshmen students who enrolled in college were deemed unprepared. Pennsylvania's move toward Common Core standards, and the requirements that students pass standardized tests to graduate – are one answer to that statistic.
