School Improvement Network, the leader in Common Core and teacher effectiveness resources, releases the newest method for increasing student learning and achievement in math.
A new 14-part video series on School Improvement Network’s PD 360 shows how implementing the new Common Core Standards with math tasks, a blended model that balances traditional instruction with student-based inquiry, increases student engagement and real-life application.
“Student achievement in all subjects is pivotal, and math achievement is especially important,” said School Improvement Network CEO and President Chet Linton. “Using math tasks to teach the Common Core Standards can dramatically increase students’ opportunities for critical thinking and problem solving, and can put math into a meaningful, relevant context.”
PD 360’s 14-part video series explains how to implement math tasks to teach the Common Core Standards, and includes 10 authentic K-12 classroom examples of math task-based lessons.
