Super Duper Publications is pleased to introduce Navi-Gator, a picture-mapping communication program for parents and children, and the Navi-Doll, a soft, green, plush alligator toy that will become your child’s good communication buddy.

Developed by Dale Seiden, Ed.D., through her more than 30 years of day-to-day, hands-on work experience with children, the unique Navi-Gator program is a practical, easy-to-follow, visual way for parents and caregivers to communicate with their children and reinforce concepts of positive behavior and communication. Donna Geffner, Ph.D., Director of the Graduate Programs in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and the Director of the Speech and Hearing Center at St. John's University, is the co-author of Navi-Gator.

Navi-Gator, for ages 3 and up (grades PreK and up), has 25 real-life situations, from school life to safety and trips to the doctor to bullying, that draw from daily social interactions common to children. Each section begins with a “story” that tells what happened to a child, a step-by step guide to an actual picture-map that dealt with this situation, and follow-up suggestions. Navi-Gator helps to teach parents and caregivers how to create their own drawings to reinforce the concepts of good behavior that are often so hard for children to learn in a way that is easy for them to understand.

Mark Victor Hansen, the creator of Chicken Soup for the Soul says of the program, "To have your kids' lives work with elegance and ease-read Navi-Gator and put your visual (imaging) and storytelling on steroids! I love this break-through system!"

Navi-Gator’s picture-mapping lets adults present their children with their own personal stories and to discuss with them appropriate behaviors through simple visual images.  By using pictures along with language, children are able to foster an understanding for real-life situations that they often encounter.  Navi-Gator topic categories include socialization, school life, family dynamics, medical & dental, and safety for children.

Use of the Navi-Doll helps reinforce the picture-maps. Children can tell Navi-Doll what they have learned and what to do in various situations they encounter.    Navi-Doll is 9” tall and made of soft, cuddly, plush fabric.
