The Irving Independent School District’s board of trustees named Debbie Cabrera as acting interim superintendent at a special meeting on Friday morning. This comes after Dr. Dana Bedden vacated the position last week.
Cabrera has been a member of the district since 1997, taking on several roles including associate superintendent of business services. “Cabrera has the experience and leadership that will keep Irving ISD moving forward,” said board president Dr. Steven Jones in a statement on Friday. “We are committed to the students, staff and families of this great district, and today begins the process of finding the next leader to guide Irving ISD.”
