Jason Glass lands superintendent job in Colorado

Iowa’s top education official and a leading advocate for school reform is leaving the state.

Jason Glass, director of the state’s Department of Education, has been appointed superintendent of Colorado’s Eagle County school district.

His first day on his new job will be July 1.

Glass has been a key player in Gov. Terry Branstad’s efforts to improve the state’s schools since arriving in Iowa in December 2010.
