John Goodspeed Stuart, former Aurora superintendent, dies at 87

John Goodspeed Stuart became an accomplished educator, but he found it tough to enjoy learning when he was young.

He had asthma and missed a lot of school, moved around many times and took time off from classes in high school.

"He just was not a scholar, but once he got back after traveling around the country twice, he decided he wanted to be an educator, and he just set his mind to it," said Jane Dooley-Stuart, his wife of more than 20 years.
