Kansas City School Enrollment Grows

An unusual thing happened in 2012 as Kansas City Public Schools braced for what at times threatened to be the most devastating drop in enrollment yet.

The district grew by 372 students.

Kansas City’s good fortune — aided by charter school closures and the continued rise in Hispanic populations across the area — highlighted the newly official Kansas and Missouri enrollment figures for the 2012-13 school year. The area’s biggest gainer: the Olathe School District, swelling by 566.
