Talawanda School District leadership remains the same for 2014 and it wants to keep the district on the same path as in the past few years.
Board of Education members Monday re-elected Mark Butterfield as president for the coming year and Mike Crowder as vice president when the board held its organizational meeting. Earlier, board members Mary Jane Roberts and Lois Vollmer took the oath of office to begin new four-year terms following their reelection in November.
Butterfield, who first joined the board in 2003, said he has a long list of things he would like to see in the district. But, he has three he wants the board to focus on in 2014, headed by setting in motion a strong plan for construction of a new Kramer Elementary.
“My goal for Kramer is to get started and get deeply into plans for Kramer by this time next year,” Butterfield said, adding his second goal is to complete the process of selling the old high school site. That money will be used toward the district’s share of the Kramer construction cost.
