Lebanese firm to take over Lansing (Mich.) charter school

An international school management firm will take over the Mid-Michigan Leadership Academy this fall and plans to open a second school in Lansing next year.

Staffers from Sabis International are in Lansing now preparing for the changeover at the kindergarten through eighth-grade school on Maple Street. And, the Lebanese firm expects to open the International Academy of Lansing charter school in fall 2014.

“We are extremely excited,” said Kevin Bonds, president of Mid-Michigan Leadership Academy’s board.
