Lewis Ferebee named new superintendent of Indianapolis schools

Lewis Ferebee, a 39-year-old school administrator in Durham, N.C., is the Indianapolis Public School Board's choice to be its next superintendent.

Board members said they are unanimously behind the choice.

"He's done the work we need doing," said board member Michael Brown. "He has turned schools around. He cut millions of dollars out of a budget. He's been a teacher in the classroom."
