Louisiana schools meet standard of one device per seven students

Having sufficient updated technology in public school classrooms is “a basic civil right” for Louisiana students, Superintendent of Education John White says.

But some school systems, Lafayette Parish School System among them, are not yet reaching that goal.

White said in a telephone news conference Wednesday that school systems have taken significant steps toward having enough technology to provide access to the Internet for online learning and to handle online testing but several still “have a ways to go.”
