With outgoing Superintendent Thomas Gialanella set to retire June 30, the township Board of Education named a 25-year school district employee as his replacement.
Deputy Superintendent Lu Anne Meinders, a township resident, will lead the district as superintendent after Gialanella’s retirement, according to a prepared statement from school officials.
Meinders has worked in various roles in the district. She was a science, math and advanced placement English teacher. Meinders then served in administrative roles managing grants and curriculum before becoming deputy superintendent. She also holds degrees in business administration and English, according to school officials.
