Maine education chief says he'll keep pushing for controversial education reforms

Maine education commissioner Stephen Bowen reaffirmed his commitment to reforms embraced by Tony Bennett, who has influenced Gov. Paul LePage's administration's education policy and who resigned abruptly Thursday as education commissioner in Florida.

Bennett stepped down after an Associated Press report showed that, when he was Indiana's education commissioner, he and his staff altered the state's A-to-F school grading formula to ensure that a key Republican donor's school got an A instead of a C.
