Marco Pochintesta named as New York district's superintendent

A new superintendent of schools will take the reins of the Pearl River school district next year, replacing John Morgano, who is retiring.

The school board on Tuesday hired Wappingers schools Superintendent Marco Pochintesta.

"We interviewed a lot of people and had many, many great candidates," said school board President Jackie Curtiss. "He's a strong leader. He doesn't micromanage. He works very well with people and that's what we're looking for."
