Massachusetts school board approves $6 million technology plan

The Springfield City School District board has unanimously approved a $6 million plan to give every student in grades three through 12 access to a laptop over the next three years.

“What we’re looking at here is not just the purchase of boxes, or devices, what we’re looking at is fundamentally changing teaching and learning,” Superintendent David Estrop said.

The one-to-one technology plan has been in the works for several months and was approved after a final presentation on metrics and evaluation at the board’s regular meeting Thursday.
