Matt Runge hired as top administrator for Illinois district

The Pleasant Plains School District is “very lucky” to hire Matt Runge as its superintendent this late in the year, according to Gregg Humphrey, school board president.

School officials in Pleasant Plains announced this week that Runge, the superintendent of the Warsaw School District, will take over as Plains’ top administrator after Labor Day.

Runge, 49, was hired to a two-year contract Monday that will pay him $130,000 per year, although the first year would be pro-rated because his start date isn’t until Sept. 2.
