Michigan district approves cooperative agreement

The Albion Public Schools board took its final step to discontinuing teaching high school in its district.

The board voted 6-0 Tuesday, June 11, to approve the cooperative agreement with Marshall Public Schools that would bus the district’s 150 high school students to Marshall High School. Newly appointed board member Kevin Metz participated in the vote, and board Trustee Vivian Davis was absent.

While Marshall accepted the agreement last month, Albion tabled the agreement June 4 to review it one last time. Superintendent Jerri-Lynn Williams-Harper said the agreement with Marshall should be something those involved with Albion schools are excited about.
