Michigan district gets $1.1M grant

The River Valley School District (Three Oaks, Mich.) has received the largest grant ever awarded by The Pokagon Fund – almost $1.1 million.

The money will be used to improve security and enhance technology at the district’s three buildings in three phases.

In Phase I, electronic signs will be placed at both elementary schools (Three Oaks and Chikaming) and video surveillance cameras will be installed in all three campuses (including the Middle/High School). Phase II will be the installation of fiber optic cable between the schools and improved wireless access to internet.
