Millburn School District Preps for Annual Audit

Auditors from Nisivoccia & Company, LLP have begun their work in preparing the Millburn Township School District's annual financial report for the Fiscal Year 2011-12.

The audit, which is usually presented at a November Board of Education meeting, will disclose the amount of excess surplus the district has available to use in the next budget.

Superintendent of Schools James Crisfield said the auditors have "taken over the conference room" in the Education Center as students this week filed in to district schools for the start of the new academic year.

Finance Committee Chairwoman Lise Chapman has been keeping an eye on surplus numbers to date in Committee reports over the summer.
