Minneapolis Public Schools May Change Academic Standards for Extracurricular Activities

The Minneapolis school board is considering changing academic standards for students who want to participate in extracurricular activities.

Currently, if students want to participate they must maintain a 2.0 GPA. 

But a proposal before the school board Tuesday night wants to change that standard. The board is considering an amendment that will allow students to compete if they show 0.1 point improvement in their GPA, even if they fall below a C average.
