Mo. Schools Worry New Education Focus May Harm Career Ed Programs

Many schools worry that programs like FFA and DECA might go to the chopping block because of a new plan to improve Missouri's schools.

The state has asked school's to accelerate student achievements and graduation rates, and some educators are worried their programs could suffer.

Dr. Stephen Kleinsmith, the superintendent of Nixa R-II, said his school is ready to accept the state's challenge to raise the bar in Missouri high schools through the Missouri School Improvement plan, also called MSIP 5.
