MultiTouch Ltd. announced the launch of its 42” and 55” MultiTaction® multitouch displays that are fully integrated with Windows 8. The new MultiTaction® Cell 42” (MT420W8) and 55” (MT550W8) with embedded Windows 8 on Intel Core i7 are the first large format displays with a built-in touch user interface. The cells are also the industry’s first interactive displays supporting simultaneous use of unlimited touch, Windows 8 native pen tracking and real-life object interaction.
With the Windows 8 compatibility, MultiTaction® displays are well-positioned for clients seeking large, integrated Windows 8 devices, particularly for public spaces. Both the 42” and 55” displays allow clients to run applications from the Windows 8 store, the same applications that run on smartphones, tablets, laptops and desktop PCs. In addition, developers can also use their preferred development platforms using industry standard interfaces such as TUIO and XML streams. MultiTouch’s proprietary Cornerstone SDK is also fully supported.
