Nevada high school receives $50,000 donation for technology upgrades

The back to school pep rally at Sparks High School had a little extra excitement Friday. For the second year in a row, they received a $50,000 donation from the Assistance League of Reno-Sparks for technology upgrades.

The school has 13 70-inch monitors and tablets for teachers, thanks to a donation from the league last year. "When I came to this school last year, no classrooms had any of this technology," said Sparks High School Principal Kevin Carroll. "My goal is to outfit the entire school eventually, which we're hoping to do by the end of the school year."

Carroll is one big step closer to making that happen after another $50,000 donation. "It's huge. My general budget is just over a hundred thousand so they've actually given me half of that."
