After two years of construction, the final crunch is coming for the new Phoenixville Area Middle School with school staff set to move in for work Aug. 20 and the students’ first day just a week after that.
“Getting this building done and opened on time is my responsibility,” said Stan Johnson, the Phoenixville Area School District executive director of operations. “We have about a week-and-a-half to get everything moved in.”
Johnson hosted a walkthrough Wednesday to show off the nearly-finished, $56 million building built to accommodate 1,100 students.
The district’s current middle school-age student population numbers approximately 800, providing, “room to grow,” Superintendent Alan Fegley said.
