New Florida Education Chief Sets Top Priorities

Florida's new education commissioner says his top priorities are implementing Common Core State Standards and a new teacher merit pay and tenure law.
Tony Bennett outlined his agenda Wednesday during an appearance before the Senate Education Committee.
The new law, which requires merit pay and abolishes tenure for new hires, is being challenged in court by the Florida Education Association, the statewide teachers union.
