It would be foolish to suggest a bill recently signed into law by Gov. Pat Quinn that deals with school bullying will eliminate the problem. But it would be equally foolish to think that schools don't need some guidelines to help deal with bullies and bullying tactics.
A bill signed last week by Quinn requires all public schools to develop and implement anti-bullying policies both inside and outside the classroom.
While most school districts have implemented rules related to bullying, this provides an excellent opportunity for all districts to review the anti-bullying policies they have in place and determine if they should be updated.
