A school district administrator was recognized with two awards from the New Jersey Technology and Engineering Education Association.
Ronald Durso, the District Supervisor of Science & Technology and Engineering Education for the Fair Lawn Public Schools, was honored recently by the New Jersey Technology and Engineering Education Association (NJTEEA) at its annual conference.
Durso was named the 2012-2013 NJTEEA Outstanding Administrator/Supervisor in Technology and Engineering Education. He was nominated for this award by Fair Lawn High School technology teacher Steven Mondadori for his leadership.
Two of Durso's goals have been to offer more pre-engineering opportunities in the department, while also providing a program that supports students who want to learn skills such as home repair. This year the Fair Lawn Board of Education approved the creation of two new courses, including STEM Lab Honors and Basic Home Ownership & Repair. Fair Lawn High School also offers a program in woods technology, technology and design, and computer-aided design and drafting (CADD).
